Kazneft Petroleum Oil and Gas Company aims to operate in a responsible manner to ensure the safety of employees, contractors and the environment. KNP is aware of the high degree of responsibility to society for maintaining a favorable environmental situation in the territory of its production activities. Safety is a personal and shared responsibility and KNP is committed to occupational health and environmental impact mitigation. We believe everybody working at or visiting our facilities has a right to return home safely and to perform their duties under safe working conditions.

Kazneft Petroleum conducts its activities based on sustainability principles as inherent components of conducting business. Our partnership with the authorities enables us to align our business with the Government’s objective to promote the Country’s sustainable growth while developing its natural resources.

Kazneft Petroleum’s sustainability efforts are based on the following principles:

• robust corporate governance principles,
• best available technologies in operations,
• enhanced local content in staff, goods, works and services, and
• continued investment in social infrastructure projects and the Kazakhstan regional economy.

Our approach to sustainable development:

According to the Corporate Governance Code, Kazneft Petroleum is aware of the importance of its influence on the economy, the environment and society and, striving to increase long-term value, ensures its sustainable development while respecting the interests of stakeholders. We are focused on ensuring the consistency of our economic, environmental and social goals for sustainable development in the long-term period.

Our approach to sustainability aspects is based on the following sustainable development principles.

The sustainable development principles are disclosure, accountability, transparency, ethical behavior, respect, rule of law, respect for human rights, intolerance for corruption, unacceptability of conflict of interest, personal example. In its Development Strategy 2028, Kazneft Petroleum defined sustainable development as one of the strategic objectives aimed at integrating the sustainability principles in the key business processes, operations, and decision-making practices.

Implementation of the strategic sustainability goal shall result in a sustainability management system to achieve the improved corporate social responsibility, health, safety and environment, improve economic effect within the company geography, counteract corruption, improve interactions with stakeholders, corporate governance rating, general corporate ethics and compliance culture.
